The municipal government of Nanjing held a press conference Wednesday for the release of the unicorn and gazelle company list. Zhang Jinghua, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, and Lan Shaomin, Mayor of Nanjing, attended the event.
The Unicorn and Gazelle Business Development White Paper was released at the press conference alongside with the list of the first batch of Unicorn and Gazelle enterprises for 2018.
Huitongda, King of the Children and Yun Man Man were among the first batch of Unicorn enterprises in Nanjing in 2018. All three companies are platform-based service companies. Another 36 companies are under incubation for the status of unicorn enterprises. 68 unicorn and gazelle companies involve new retail, automobile transportation, medical and health services, and Internet services will become the seed players of Nanjing’s Unicorn enterprises.
Through the establishment of the Unicorn and Gazelle Enterprise Club, Nanjing will establish a “one-for-one policy” service mechanism and establish strategic cooperation agreements with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange to create a favorable environment for the development of enterprises in terms of policies, services, and financing and help many innovative companies enter the ranks of unicorns and gazelles as soon as possible to make more contributions to the construction of Nanjing's bid for an innovative city.
