Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, joined a panel discussion with deputies from Shandong Province at the first session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing on March 8. He said the "red genes" must be emphasized and passed down through generations and encouraged the development of the home service industry. Xi’s speech has sparked widespread discussions among the CPPCC members from Jiangsu. The CPPCC members from Jiangsu believed that the red culture bred in the Chinese revolution, construction and reform is the core element of the advanced socialist culture and the source of our cultural confidence. Culture inherits history and connects the future. The CPPCC members stated that we must actively cultivate and promote the core values of socialism in line with their actual conditions, deeply explore the epochal values of red resources and traditional culture, and further inherit the red genes, so as to get united for the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
