The Jiangsu delegation to the 13th National People's Congress held a meeting Saturday morning to study the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping when attending the deliberations of the delegations from Inner Mongolia, Guangdong and Shandong.
Lou Qinjian, head of the Jiangsu delegation, secretary of the provincial party committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, emphasized the importance of studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches so as to promote the high quality development in Jiangsu.
Lou Qinjian said that the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping enhanced the understanding of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and has a very strong practical relevance and guiding significance by grasping the general trend, and taking control of the overall situation. The General Secretary's expectations for the three provinces and autonomous regions, also serve the purposes for the work of Jiangsu.
Lou pointed out that we must review the work of Jiangsu in accordance with the latest requirements of the Secretary General. First, we must look at the standard from the standpoint of improving development so as to plan Jiangsu's development to make it at the forefront of the country, lead the future development and meet the world standard, adding that we must stand at the forefront of world to contemplate the issues concerning the promotion of the Belt and Road by highlighting the province’s role of being at the intersection of the initiative.
The CPC Provincial chief emphasized that studying and implementing the spirit of the important speeches of the General Secretary is an important political task for implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the spirit of the two sessions.
We must strengthen the Party’s overall leadership, enhance political stance, safeguard the core status of General Secretary Xi Jinping, maintain the authority of the Party Central Committee and focus on unified leadership, Lou said.
Xi Jinping highlighted the importance of high-quality economic growth and poverty reduction while talking with deputies to the National People's Congress from the Inner Mongolia autonomous region last Monday.
Xi highlighted the importance of developing a modern-energy economy by following the global trend of an energy technology revolution, and improving the efficiency of energy consumption.
Xi Jinping said that China’s rural vitalization strategy is the leading agenda for government work on agriculture, rural areas and rural residents when joining a panel discussion with deputies from Shandong Province last Thursday.
Local authorities should have a profound understanding of the strategy’s necessity and implement it earnestly, he said.
He urged local authorities to reenergize rural industries, increase incomes of rural residents, alleviate poverty, and enrich rural life, and Xi pointed out that national food security should be ensured, agricultural structure optimized, and establishment of a modern rural industry system quickened.
