The Jiangsu deputies to the National People’s Congress joined deliberation on the government work report delivered Monday by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the opening meeting of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China.
During the deliberation, the deputies spoke highly of the report of the work of the government, holding that the report lays high the great banner of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and follows the principle of high-quality development.
Miu Ruilin, an NPC deputy, said that a good ecological environment is the most beneficial welfare for the livelihood of the people. We should focus on the three major campaigns of environmental protection on the climate, the water and the soil to push forward the tough battle of pollution prevention and control. We will make greater efforts to improve the ecological environment quality. It is suggested that a national green development fund should be set up to guide social capital and financial capital to invest in eco-environmental projects and promote the green development of the entire society.
Zhang Jindong, Wu Huifang and Wang Quan and other deputies believed that it is necessary to upgrade traditional industries with digitalization, speed up the transformation of government functions through deepening the reform, streamlining administration and delegating power and instituting decentralization, and add vitality and strength to high-quality development. An effective mechanism is needed to help win the war on poverty as scheduled, they added.
