The 13 scenic spots monitored by the provincial tourism authority received a total of 3.7390 million tourists during the week-long spring festival holiday with the ticket sales reaching 92.4 million yuan, according to the data released by the Provincial Tourism Bureau on Thursday.

The arch of the glazed-tile pagoda of the Grand Bao’en Temple Relics Park turned out to be a huge attraction to the tourists during the holiday.

The park authority also promoted an acousto-optic technology show and classic activities such as copying the scriptures to attract as many tourists as possible.

During the Spring Festival, the major scenic spots in the province continued to be popular as a large crowd of tourists flocked to the Plum Blossom Hill and the Confucius Temple in Nanjing and the Dinosaur Park in Changzhou to view lantern shows and watch performances.

With the further implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating the countryside, rural tourism and ancient town tour continued to be popular throughout the province during this Spring Festival. Many people opted for self-drive tours. The temple festivals in Suzhou and Yancheng were immersed in the thunderous noise of drum and gong beating with lively performances, dragon dance, and street walking activities attracting tourists from near and far.

In Huai'an and Suqian, many u-pick strawberry farms were sought after by tourists who were enjoying the pastoral fun in the great countryside.
