East China’s Jiangsu province held a commendatory meeting Monday afternoon to commend the award-winning athletes who competed in the country’s 13th National Games.
At the 13th National Games, the Jiangsu delegation won 35 gold medals in the competitive sports, ranking foremost in the medal tally. It also ranked foremost in the list of mass sports award won the Sportsmanship Award.
The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government decided to grant Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau and 17 other organizations the title of advanced collective of Jiangsu Province.
The first-class collective order of merit was awarded to Suzhou Sports Bureau and 9 other organizations.
The model worker award was given to Zhong Man and 48 other athletes and Li Qingfeng and 11 other coaches.
The first-class individual order of merit was awarded to 62 athletes, 18 coaches and 13 technical support staff.
The second-class individual order of merit was awarded to 32 training managers.
Wang Yanwen, member of the standing committee of the Provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial publicity department, attended the commending ceremony and delivered a speech.
Vice Governor Wang Jiang presided over the meeting and read out the list of the awards.
The 13th National Games took place in north China’s Tianjin city in August last year.
