Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, joined a group deliberation of deputies from Yangzhou city to the annual session of the Provincial People's Congress in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu province on the afternoon of January 27.
The deputies put forward suggestions on high-speed rail construction planning, promoting innovation-driven development, and strengthening the building of ecological civilization.
Lou Qinjian demanded Yangzhou should implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, take the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics as the guide, and act in accordance with the series of important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work in Jiangsu.
He urged party and government officials in Yangzhou to implement the province’s decision of high-quality development to ensure that jiangsu stands at the forefront of the country, follow the major contradictions in the society, implement the new development concept, strengthen systematic thinking, pay attention to regularity, and push the work to a new height.
In the new journey to promote high-quality development, Yangzhou should regard the new round of development from a broader perspective by grasping the great opportunities at the national level such as the "Belt and Road", the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta's regional integration and development, the CPC provincial chief said.
Lou Qinjian said it is fundamental for Yangzhou to promote high-quality development through creative explorations, adding that the city should explore new concepts of urban construction, maintain and highlight the unique qualities of Yangzhou in the country and even the world, boost the industries suitable for urban development, and further promote the integrated development of Nanjiang, Zhenjiang and Yangzhou.
He also called for the people in Yangzhou to explore institutional innovation and boost the overseas promotion of the Yangzhou crafts, Yangzhou gardens and other traditional skills for further development.
We should give full play to the advantages of traditional culture and basic education, continue to meet the people's growing demand for a better life, provide better public services in education, medical care, and ecological environment, and bring more sense of gain, happiness and security to the people, the CPC provincial chief said.
