The 12th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference or CPPCC is scheduled to kick off the first session Thursday. 789 deputies will attend the session which will see leadership reshuffle. The deputies come from politics, economy, culture and other circles. They include 136 women, representing 17.2% of the total deputies. More than one fourth of the deputies are professional. Social elites such as senior executives of private and foreign-funded enterprises have been elected. 465 deputies are celebrities from all walks of life. 58.9% of the deputies are newly elected. 246 proposals have been submitted to the provincial committee of CPPCC. The opening ceremony of the session will broadcast live Thursday morning at JSTV and other radio and broadcast outlets.
