Governor Wu Zhenglong presided over a plenary meeting of the provincial government to scrutinize the draft version of the government work report that is to be delivered to the upcoming annual session of the provincial people’s congress.
The past five years have been extraordinary as the CPC and the country have made historic achievements and historic changes with the socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The party and government organizations across the province have made unremitting efforts to study and implement the spirit of the 18th and 19th CPC National Congress by adhering to the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the important speeches made by Xi Jinping during his inspection tour to Jiangsu as the guidelines, the statement said.
Jiangsu has also stepped up its efforts for the implementation of the decision-making policies and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council by adhering to the new development concept and the overall tone of stability as the guideline to strive for the promotion of the economy from high-speed growth stage to high-quality development stage, as is evidenced by the great achievements in economic and social development, the statement said.
The next five years is the critical stage for the province to realize the two centenary goals and a well-off society before embarking on a new journey for socialist modernization, according to the statement.
We should improve political stance, carry out the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and promote the overall work in line with Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era so as to work together to revise and perfect the government work report for a better planning of the work of the next five years, according to the statement.
