China Post issued a series of special stamps, "New Year Greetings", on Wednesday. The stamp has one piece in one set, and the nominal value is 1.2 yuan. This is the fourth year for China Post to issue New Year Greetings special stamps. Annually since 1980, China Post has issued special stamps featuring one Chinese zodiac animal corresponding to a lunar year. The dog for the upcoming Chinese New Year is the 11th in this repeating cycle of 12 animals. China Post issued a set of special zodiac stamps for the Year of Dog with two different designs last Friday. The Chinese Year of the Dog will begin on Feb 16 this year. The dog is the 11th year of the 12-year traditional Chinese zodiac cycle. It's commonly associated with loyalty and cleverness. The dog is also seen as a symbol of a thriving family or business since its bark resembles the sound of the Chinese word for "prosperity."
