Memorial activities for Nanjing Massacre victims were held by overseas Chinese communities in many countries to demonstrate the increasing awareness of the mass killing since the Documents of Nanjing Massacre were inscribed on Memory of World Register by UNESCO.

Nanjing Massacre memorial events were held in the past few days in Monterey Park City of Los Angeles, Atlanta and other places in the United States.

The overseas Chinese community in Melbourne Australia held a memorial event on Tuesday under the title for the world peace- the memorial for the 80th anniversary of the death of the Nanjing Massacre victims. More than 100 people participated in the memorial, including representatives of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, local Chinese and renowned Australian scholars.

The overseas Chinese community and the Chinese students studying in the Netherlands traveled in the rain to The Hague News Center for the memorial activities marking the 80 anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. In a quiet and solemn atmosphere, they laid a wreath to the dead compatriots and mourned with deep sorrow. A photo exhibition was also held to shed light on the atrocities and the forcible drafting of women as military sexual slaves by the Japanese troops during WWII.

Memorial activities for the Nanjing Massacre victims were also held in Argentina, East Timor, Germany, Tajikistan, Botswana and other countries and regions around the world.
