The Yangtze River Delta Joint Conference on Cooperation and Development kicked off Wednesday in Nantong, a city in the central-east of Jiangsu province.
Top provincial leaders from Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui attended the conference which is focused on the further integration of the country’s Belt and Road initiative and the country’s major development scheme along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Huang Lixin, executive vice governor of Jiangsu, noted that as the rotating chair of the conference, Jiangsu has attached great importance to the promotion of cooperation in the region.
Huang, who is also deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, also said the strategy on regional coordinated development unveiled at the 19th CPC National Congress and the innovation-driven development in the east China region has pointed out the direction for the development of regional cooperation in the Yangtze River delta.
She suggested that Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui should adhere to cohesion-driven innovation for the enhancement of the integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta.
The top official also gave suggestions concerning the improvement of ecological conservation, the deepening of opening-up and cooperation and the solutions to the unbalanced development in the region.
