Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met on Wednesday in Nanjing with Mr. Giuseppe, vice president of Leonardo S.p.A. from Italy.
Wu extended his warm welcome to Mr. Giuseppe for his visit to Jiangsu.
He said Jiangsu is in the process of studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress by adhering to the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era as the guide to practice new development ideas and promote the quality of economic development for better efficiency and greater changes.
The governor spoke highly of the collaboration between Leonardo S.p.A. and Kangdexin Group Company in the manufacturing of aerospace composite in Zhangjiagang, a small city in the east of Jiangsu.
The joint venture will help to boost the industrial transformation and upgrading and cultivate world-class advanced manufacturing clusters in Jiangsu for the promotion of the economic and trade cooperation between Jiangsu and Italy, the governor said.
Mr. Giuseppe said he is deeply impressed by the economic vitality of Jiangsu, which has shored up his investment confidence. He also pledged that his company will accelerate the promotion of the investment project to better serve the province’s development.
Leonardo S.p.A., formerly Leonardo-Finmeccanica and Finmeccanica, is an Italian global high-tech company and one of the key players in aerospace, defense and security. Headquartered in Rome, the company has 180 sites worldwide. It is the ninth largest defense contractor in the world based on 2014 revenues. The company is partially owned by the Italian government through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which holds 30.2% of the company's shares and is its largest shareholder.
