Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, met Wednesday morning in Nanjing with Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former prime minister of France. Raffarin is also Chairman of Senate Committee of Military, Defense and Foreign Affair.
Lou Qinjian expressed his gratitude to Jean-Pierre Raffarin for his positive contribution made towards the Sino-French friendship.
Lou briefed the guests on the economic and social development of Jiangsu, adding that Raffarin’s two-time visit to Jiangsu in the past year is a clear demonstration of France’s confidence and determination in its acceleration of the friendly cooperation with Jiangsu.
Jiangsu will actively support the construction of the Sino-French towns in Nanjing, support the cooperation between China and France, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with French enterprises and universities, and make greater contribution to promoting the friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
Raffarin said this is his second visit to Nanjing for the promotion of the Sino-French industrial exchanges and cooperation.
Jiangsu is China's economic and cultural province with a good foundation for development and deep historical culture, Raffarin said, adding that France is looking forward to the successful cooperation with Nanjing to attract more European enterprises and investors to Jiangsu for better participation in the Belt and Road initiative to achieve mutual benefit and win-win development.
