World Fly-in Expo brings daring pilots to Wuhan skies

  Aerobatics fest the FAI World Fly-in Expo or WFE kicked off in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, on Saturday, attracting participants from around the world.

  The first edition of WFE is held from 4 to 7 November 2017 in Wuhan, China. The event promises to be a mega-event with more than 1000 pilots, athletes, coaches and referees from more than 30 countries to take part in the air shows and competitions.

  100 exhibitors from general aviation companies and other air sports federations, clubs and enterprises are present at the show.

  Running till Tuesday, the WFE is jointly hosted by the World Air Sports Federation, the Aero Sports Federation of China, the Wuhan city government and the Hubei Sports Bureau.

  It features 788 aircraft – 588 of them participating in air shows, with 200 additional exhibitions. Aviation sports competitions, interactive activities, and forums are also set to be held at the event.

  The international expo has attracted more than 1,000 participants, including pilots, athletes, coaches and judges from over 20 countries and regions.

  Some 300,000 spectators are expected to attend. Chinese planes, including the SL600, a light aircraft developed by private enterprise Zall Airlines in Wuhan, will debut.

  The event aims at promoting air sports and economic activities locally, nationally and internationally.
