More than 184,000 applicants in Jiangsu sat for the national primary and secondary school teacher qualification examinations which went underway Saturday morning. The number of applicants has increased substantially compared with a bit over 100000 with last year’s exam. The examination went on in 121 test venues across the province with 11142 exam rooms installed. The first subject for the written test is comprehensive qualities which mainly investigates the applicants’ understanding of teachers ' professional ethics and cultural attainment, including life, history, art and hot issues. Those who pass the qualifying round will be subject to trial lectures and defenses before they are given the qualification certificate by the Ministry of Education.
