同仁堂始创于1669年（清康熙八年），至今已有348年历史。
同仁堂商标是中国《商标法》实施后国家认定的第一个驰名商标；第一个根据《商标国际注册马德里协定》注册的中国商标；首批被国家商务部认定的 “中华老字号”；“同仁堂中医药文化”被列入“第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录”。
本集团产品涵盖中成药、食品、化妆品等领域，剂型涉及丸剂、胶剂、片剂、颗粒剂和口服液等多种剂型。拥有境内外控股及参股子公司超过三十家。
主要产品六味地黄丸系列、牛黄解毒片系列、感冒清热颗粒系列、阿胶系列、金匮肾气丸系列及西黄丸系列等。
同仁堂科技为高新技术企业，亦通过ISO9001认证。所有生产线均已通过新版国家GMP认证；部分生产线或产品通过澳大利亚TGA认证、日本厚生省认证或伊斯兰哈拉认证。
2000年同仁堂科技成立并在香港联交所创业板挂牌上市，2010年转入香港联交所主板上市 。
2013年5月子公司同仁堂国药（8138.HK）在香港创业板独立上市。

Tong Ren Tang Trademark is the first "famous trademark" recognized by the government since the implementation of Trademark Law of the PRC. It is also the first Chinese trademark registered under the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks; Tong Ren Tang Trademark is recognized as a "Famous Time-honored Brand" by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC; " Tong Ren Tang TCM Culture" is listed in the "First Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Directory“.
The Group's products cover traditional Chinese medicine, food, and cosmetics, with dosage forms involving pills, gums, tablets, granules and oral liquid. ; and has over 30 onshore and offshore subsidiaries.
The main products include Liuwei Dihuang Pills series, Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets series, Ganmao Qingre Granule series, E Jiao series, JinKui Shenqi Pills series and Xihuang Pills series, etc..
The Company is a high-tech enterprise that has obtained the ISO9001 Certification. All production lines have passed the new national GMP Certification. Certain production lines and products have obtained the Australian TGA Certification, the Japanese Ministry of Welfare Certification or the Halal Certification.
In 2000, The Company was established and listed on the HKEx GEM. It was transferred to the Main Board of HKEx in 2010.
In 2013, Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine (8138.HK), spin-off subsidiary of the Company, was listed on HKEx GEM.
