Over 20 foreigners from 16 countries have participated “Foreigners’ view of Jiangsu” that was held in Jiangyin city last weekend. In order to boost communication between Jiangsu and the rest of the world, Jiangsu Provincial Government has been organizing “Foreigners’ view of Jiangsu” since 2012. Take a look!
The foreigners participated in this program are either working or studying in Jiangsu Province. The local government of Jiangyin city held a brief launch ceremony and expressed its warm welcome to their visit.
The vice director of the Jiangsu Government’s information office, Yang Liqun talked about the meaning of inviting foreigners to see Jiangsu and his sincere hope that all the foreigners could fully explore the rich culture as well as the fast modernization of Jiangyin city.
The first stop was Sunshine group, one of the world’s largest woolen enterprises. The corporation is also famous for its production of national military honor guards’ suits. The foreigners also explored the high-tech of the clothing industry. Like this one gram of wool, the group said, could make 500 meters of cloth.
They’ve also visited the Equestrian Culture Museum owned by Heilan group and experienced the “horse culture” industry of Jiangyin city.
Apart from enterprises, they’ve also visited Changjing old street that was built in 1465. The group have explored the traditional way of making mooncakes in the street since the Mid-autumn festival is just about a month away.
The tour ended with the visit to Huaxi village, which is known as one of China’s wealthiest village. The party secretary of the village, Wu Xie’en talked about the history of Huaxi, and how it was developed from an undeveloped area to what it is today.
As a cultural communication platform to the world, “Foreigners’ view of Jiangsu” organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Government have taken many foreigners to experience various parts of Jiangsu Province since 2012. The trip to Jiangyin is the 4th time in 2017 and 2017 also marks the 30th anniversary of Jiangyin’s upgrading from a county to a city.
