The city of Wuxi kicked off on Saturday its annual session of the high level talent fair for innovation and entrepreneurship.
More than 500 high level talents from home and abroad attended the talent exchange fair. They included 12 academicians from china and some other countries and 217 experts funded by China’s the Recruitment Program of Global Experts which is better known as the Thousand Talents Plan.
Li Xiaomin, secretary of the Wuxi Municipal CPC Committee, delivered an important speech at the launch ceremony, urging the related sectors in Wuxi to carve out a path to success by giving a strong impetus to innovation and entrepreneurship and taking advantage of the talents as the primary driving force.
Li, who is also member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, hoped that greater efforts will be made to encourage the talents to stay on for startup businesses and commercialization of research findings.
Shi Yigong, an academician of the Chinese academy of sciences and vice president of Tsinghua University, was invited to address the hot issues concerning the innovation-driven development in Wuxi through the recruitment of high end talents. Professor Shi was joined by five other renowned experts during the panel discussion.
