（A volunteer feeds the dogs）
Volunteers in Yancheng have raised money to save 62 dogs from dog dealers intending to sell them to a restaurant.
Yan Haiyan is a dog lover who works in Yancheng. She happened to find out that a few dog dealers had a truck full of dogs from Nantong that they planned to sell to a restaurant in Huai’an. After confirming that they would pass through Yancheng, Yan and her friends decided to save the dogs and began raising money immediately. They raised more than 10,000 yuan ($1500) within a short time.
There were more than 10 cages in the truck containing breeds including poodle, samoyed, golden retriever and husky. Yan and her friends spent 12,000 yuan ($1800) to buy all the dogs.
Up to now, all the dogs have been housed except one pregnant golden retriever in pet hospital.
