After three years of construction, the 1.56-kilometer tunnel under Xinggang Street and an underground interchange below Xiandai Avenue, both in Suzhou Industrial Park, will open to traffic this Sunday.
The Xinggang Street tunnel starts from Sumu Road in the north and goes south across Xiandai Avenue, Sanxing River, Suxiu Road, Metro Line 1, Xiangmentang Canal to come to the ground on Suhui Road.
The underground interchange has four lanes in two directions. It has a height limit of 4.3 meters and a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour.
