The local taxation authority in Jiangsu has strived to promote streamlining administration and delegating power to lower-level governments and optimizing administrative services to boost online collection and payment of social insurance charges by relying on the big data and the Internet.
The local tax bureau in Kunshan city took the initiative last year to launch a collaborative platform for paralleled information system on social security charges.
The platform was made possible by grouping the data from the local taxation bureau, the human resources and social security bureau and the finance bureau to tackle information asymmetry and repeated submission of the payers’ files.
The system has been put to use in Wuxi with expected operation in Nanjing, Suzhou, Nantong, Suqian and Huai’an at the end of this year until a full coverage next year.
By deepening inter-departmental collaboration and optimizing services, Jiangsu is making headway in the collection and payment of social security charges with an accomplishment rate of 99.5%, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the province’s social security system.
