The wheat straw and stubble, when fermented after being shredded, has the highest rate of biotransformation with its fiber, protein and nitrogen-free extract found to be the most suitable agent for the growth of button mushroom.
The result was achieved after a series of experiments were made in comparison with the shredded and fermented rice and maize stubbles, according to the manager of a mushroom breeding company in Suining, a county to the southeast of Xuzhou city.
