With halfway going through the 62-day summer passenger travel rush, the flow of railway passengers continued to surge while college students are booking train tickets for their return trip to the campuses.
Train tickets on some hot routes such as the tickets to Beijing, Shanghai and some other hot destinations are falling short of supply.
Statistics show the railway passenger flow in the Yangtze River Delta has continued to be on the high side with 20 days reporting daily flow of 1.8 million passengers.
1.9 million passengers were sent off on a daily basis between July 1st and 10th, setting a historic record for the summer travel rush in the Yangtze River Delta.
A large number of travelers were making train rides to visit relatives and friends, go for sightseeing and escape the summer heat.
Beijing, Qingdao and Xi’an remained the host destinations during the summer.
In the meantime, college students have started to book train tickets for their return trip to their schools. College freshmen will start their first semester of college life around September 10.
Train tickets for hot destinations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Guangzhou and Wuhan are falling short of supply.
