The 100th ship with a draft of 11 meters called at Nanjing Port Tuesday evening under the guidance of two pilots. The China-registered SS Taihang 158 is a 50000-tonnage seagoing vessel with a length of 199.99 meters, a width of 32.26 meters and a draft of 11.12 meters. The vessel was carrying coal to the wharf of Datang Power Plant to become the 110th large vessel with a draft of 11 meters that has called at Nanjing port since the opening of the phase-II project of the 12.5-meter deepwater channel from Nanjing in the west to the estuary of the Yangtze River in the east. This is also indicative of the normalized capacity for the passage of 50000-tonnge vessels into Nanjing Port, which is destined to boost the economic growth in the Yangtze River economic belt.
