The final of the provincial sitcom contest for youngsters in Jiangsu came to a close on Monday. The contest is held with a view to promoting the core socialist values.
The contest has been thrust to the spotlight since its launch in March this year.
More than 2000 sitcom shows were contributed by over 100000 youngsters from across the province, with the themes ranging from social practices, study and work, and science fantasies.
52 sitcom shows entered the provincial final after a series of selection.
The team from a primary school affiliated with Nanjing Normal University and the No. 1 Primary School of Jiangyin were honored with the first prize in the respective group.
The 24-word “core socialist values” have taken roots in the public’s mind and are translated into actions since they were first defined at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Core socialist values, which summarize the nation, society and individuals, comprise a set of moral principles defined by central authorities as prosperity, democracy, civility, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, the rule of law, patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship.
