9月22日，“水韵江苏”文旅主题推介会在江苏苏州举行，外国驻华使节、境外机构驻华办事处代表、友好人士等国际友人相聚澹台湖畔，共品运河文化，共话交流合作。推介会上，“千年运河·水韵江苏”英文特刊和“水韵江苏”3D入境游线路正式发布。
A culture-and-tourism themed promotion event of “Charm of Jiangsu” was held in Suzhou Wednesday. Foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of overseas offices in China, and international friends gathered at Tantai Lake to share the distinctive cultural heritage of the Grand Canal.
“水韵江苏”文旅主题推介由江苏省文化和旅游厅主办，不仅是2021 国际友人“水韵江苏·运河行”的活动之一，也是第三届大运河文化旅游博览会的重要活动之一。在本届运博会期间，国际友人们除了参加运博会开幕仪式，还将参观苏州博物馆、拙政园、甪直古镇，并参与刺绣体验活动，在亲身体验中感受丰富多彩的运河文化，在走进运河中感受“水韵江苏”的独特魅力。
Hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the activity of “Charm of Jiangsu” is not only one of the activities for international friends to explore the charm of the canal, but also one of the featured activities of the 3rd Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo. Delivering keynote speeches at the event, international friends will also visit Suzhou Museum and gardens, experience embroidery activities, and feel the unique charm of Jiangsu.
推介会上，“千年运河·水韵江苏”英文特刊和“水韵江苏”3D入境游线路正式发布。“千年运河·水韵江苏”英文特刊以“缘何运河”“千里悠悠”“运河雅趣”“古运新歌”四个篇章，展现了江苏从古至今因运河而诞生的文脉、美食、风光。“水韵江苏”3D 入境游线路包含马可波罗江苏行等多个精彩主题，提供远程虚拟游览江苏的精彩互动体验。通过扫描二维码，便可开启美妙线上之旅，人们在世界任何地方、任何时间都能领略到江苏之美。
The English edition of “Charm of Jiangsu” magazine and 3D tour itinerary of “Charm of Jiangsu” were officially released at the event. Featuring four chapters of Why Canal, Long Journey of Thousands of Miles, Elegancy of Canal, and New Songs of Ancient Canal, the English edition of the “Charm of Jiangsu” magazine shares with the readers a beautiful Jiangsu cradled by the canal. By scanning the QR code, visitors can start a wonderful online journey, and enjoy the beauty of Jiangsu anywhere and anytime in the world. The 3D tour itinerary highlights many wonderful themes, offering visitors a virtual tour to the water-blessed province.
江南民乐合奏《水龙吟》，古琴悠远、二胡凄婉；伞舞杂技《涟漪》，承接写实意境；现代昆舞《舞动苏韵》，转身回眸间书写着江南美韵；新编江苏民歌《茉莉花》，一颦一笑间展现最美江南……推介会上歌舞不断，为参会的嘉宾带来了一场身临其境、缤纷绚丽的“水韵江苏”之旅。
Wonderful performances on site pushed the whole event to another climax. Water Dragon Chant, Rippling Sea of Lotuses, Charm of Suzhou and the Jasmine Flower brought the beauty of Jiangsu to the audience.
江苏历史文化底蕴深厚，拥有中国大运河、苏州古典园林、明孝陵等世界文化遗产，昆曲、古琴、雕版、云锦等世界非物质文化遗产。在江苏这片土地上，流淌千年的中国大运河纵贯南北790公里，串联起吴文化、金陵文化、淮扬文化、楚汉文化等地域文化，成为江苏的美丽中轴。从2019年起，江苏每年举办一届运博会，一个重要的目的，就是致力打造国际国内运河城市开展人文交流、传播运河文化、分享运河故事的平台。
Enriched with historical and cultural heritages, Jiangsu boasts its classical gardens in Suzhou and other world cultural heritages, as well as intangible cultural heritages like Kunqu Opera, Guqin, woodblock and Yunjin embroidery. The Grand Canal, which flows for thousands of years, runs 790 kilometers from north to south in the land of Jiangsu. It connects Wu culture, Jinling culture, Huai-yang culture, Chu-Han culture and other regional cultures. Hosting the Expo to celebrate the legacy of Grand Canal every year from 2019 on, Jiangsu is to build a platform for international and domestic canal cities to carry out cultural exchanges, promote canal culture and share canal stories.

Let’s share the insights of four distinguished international friends on the Grand Canal and on Jiangsu.
荷兰驻沪总领事郭媚瑶（Marjo Crompvoets）
江苏是荷兰北布拉邦省非常重要的友好省州，而北布拉邦乃至整个荷兰也和江苏一样拥有丰富的运河资源。我自己1991年就在江苏上过学，希望以后有机会体验新发布的入境游线路，也很期待在明年促成北布拉邦省长来江苏访问，感受大运河的魅力之旅。
The relationship with Jiangsu Province is extremely important to Noord-Brabant of the Netherlands, and we as a country have a lot of canals as well. I started here as a student in ’91, and I’m looking forward to coming to Jiangsu for a personal visit. The promotion event is enticing me to come here. I also would like to bring the Commissioner of the King of the Province of Noord-Brabant for her first visit to Jiangsu next year, and show her all the beautiful scenery Jiangsu has to offer as well as the friendship of the people.

水运促进的不仅是货物的运输，更是思想的流动。中国和意大利的大运河都是数千年来的辉煌成就，至今仍在继续发挥作用。来自威尼斯的马可·波罗是第一个对中国大运河做出详细记载的西方人，我们今天在大运河沿岸也能看到对他的纪念。中意两国对于运河文化遗产的传承利用都很重视，目前威尼斯大学和苏州大学正在对这一主题进行非常有意思的联合研究，其成果也将会在明年的意大利文旅年活动上展出。
Waterways facilitate the flowing of goods and ideas. Canals are fantastic, astonishing achievements done through thousands of years, and still today they have economical functions. Marco Polo was the first Westerner to give detailed descriptions of the Grand Canal, and that’s why you’ll find his memorials in several places here along the canal. Promoting cultural heritage linked to the grand canals is a common feature of Italy and China. Our universities are cooperating on that. For instance, there’s a very interesting project promoted by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Soochow University. Next year, during the year of culture and tourism, an exhibition is panned to take place here in Jiangsu about this element.

中国大运河是历史上的重大壮举，也是中国快速发展的原因之一：人们找到了通往繁荣的水路。我迫不及待想要游览江苏段的大运河了。运博会上的“水韵江苏”推介会非常精彩，我相信疫情结束、中国放开旅行限制之后，世界各地的游客都会涌向江苏。
The Grand Canal was a major feat at the time, and it was one of the reasons why China developed so quickly: they found a water route to prosper. I’m eager to see the part of the canal here. The “Charm of Jiangsu” promotion event was attractive and breathtaking, and I’m sure as soon as China opens up after the pandemic, tourists will be flowing in to visit Jiangsu.

马来西亚一直很重视与江苏的文旅合作，这次国际展上也专门设立了马来西亚展台，呈现我们的特色产品以及最新的文旅信息。我认为这次运博会搭建了很好的平台，让我们在疫情期间也可以增进了解，为今后双向的旅游合作打下基础。
Malaysia always encourages the interactions between us and the local government, particularly on the promotion of tourism and cultural industry. In the Malaysia pavilion of the Expo, we have products from Malaysia and also information about the latest situation of tourism. During this pandemic time, we believe this kind of activities can further build up the platform for collaboration. When the pandemic situation gets better, it’s time for us to move forward with the physical travelling of potential tourists between Malaysia and China, particularly Jiangsu.
