The 3rd Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo kicked off Wednesday evening in the city of Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province.
Sponsored by the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Provincial Government, the expo is held with a view to building a platform for the integration of cultural and tourism development in cities along the canal and promoting the widespread communication of the Grand Canal culture.
Both banks of the ancient canal in Suzhou were filled with brilliance, showing the elegance of the "water rhyme south of the Yangtze River".
By the Jinji Lake, the majestic symphony group played the happy song of "The Grand Canal".
The carefully-designed performance lifted the curtain of the 3rd Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo, brining an audio-visual feast full of "Canal style" and "Jiangsu taste".
In addition to enjoying the night scenery of the canal, at the expo venue, you can also shuttle between various canal cities, visit the canal, appreciate the canal culture, taste the canal delicacies, and experience what good life the Grand Canal has brought to us.
The azure blue canal walkway, the high-hanging canal scroll, and the exhibition halls of various provinces and cities are located in between, showing their unique charm.
The intangible heritage exhibition showcased 76 intangible cultural heritage projects and nearly a thousand works in cities along the canal, allowing the audience to experience the profound and long-standing canal culture.
"The Expo makes organic integration of the economy, tourism and food along the Grand Canal. I feel that the culture of the Grand Canal is improving," said a visitor.
