East China’s Jiangsu province put 199 fire trucks into service at a ceremony held on Monday. Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor attended the event.
Fan Jinlong pointed out that the provincial party committee and the provincial government have attached great importance to the construction of firefighting and rescue capabilities by studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important requirements on emergency management system and capacity building.
He asked the fire department to closely integrate the special safety production projects, increase the deployment of advanced and applicable equipment, focus on improving emergency response and handling capabilities, and provide powerful equipment guarantees for maintaining the safety of people's lives and property and safe development.
Fan Jinlong required the province’s fire departments to boost the construction of the fire prevention and control system, accelerate the construction of fire emergency rescue capabilities, deepen the implementation of special tasks for safety production, efficiently respond to various disasters and accidents, maintain the safety of people’s lives and property, and maintain social safety and stability so as to make due contributions to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
In recent years, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have continued to increase investment in firefighting equipment. Last year, Jiangsu invested 360 million yuan in purchasing practical equipment, including elevating jet fire trucks of different heights ranging from 40 to 70 meters, multifunctional powder elevating jet fire trucks, and urban flood drainage trucks.
