Hospitals above the secondary level in east China’s Jiangsu province are required to continue implementing appointment-based and real-name registration system for non-emergency medical treatment so as to avoid group gathering and cross infection as the country has reported locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since early January.

Local people can visit hospitals by making appointment through phone calls, Internet and mobile phone app.

In the meantime, elders who are not good at using apps can visit hospitals to appoint at registration booths or volunteers can help make appointments on their mobile phones.

Experts reminded that due to the recent temperature fluctuations, there are high incidence of colds and flus, especially the elderly and children have poor immunity and are susceptible. Common cold, flu, and novel coronavirus all belong to respiratory diseases, but the symptoms are obvious and easy to distinguish. People don't need to be too nervous.

If the patient only has respiratory symptoms

without fever and other systemic symptoms
