East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no efforts in recent years to improve rural highways in a bid to optimize the layout of rural logistics so that the industrial products can be delivered to the villages and high-quality agricultural products can be marketable and profitable.

Since the end of November last year, 131 communities in Jiangning District of Nanjing have installed intelligent express delivery cabinets. In the case that the elderly cannot operate, their children can remotely open the cabinets online with a mobile phone completing the express delivery or reception.
The transportation department of Jiangning District of Nanjing has integrated express delivery resources, established a joint distribution center, and built a three-tier rural logistics network to improve rural logistics service quality, and reduce costs.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, especially since 2019, Jiangsu has continued to improve the construction of rural road infrastructure, and explored diversified business integration development models featuring "rural logistics + e-commerce", "+ commerce" and "+ distinctive agriculture".
By the end of 2020, Jiangsu had established a three-tier rural logistics network system, improving the efficiency of rural logistics operation organization with the foundation for the accelerated development of urban and rural logistics integration taken shape.
