The Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee heard the 2020 work reports of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Government, the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, the Provincial Court, and the Provincial Procuratorate. In the past year, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, the Provincial Government, the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, the Provincial Court, and the Provincial Procuratorate adhered to the guidance of the Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implemented the central government’s decision and deployment and the work arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee, give full play to the leading role of the party group, fulfilled their duties, creatively carried out work, and made positive contributions to the province's victory in epidemic prevention and control, economic and social development, and the construction of comprehensive well-off society at a high-level, according to a statement released after the meeting.
This year is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a year of special importance in the process of modernization. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, the Provincial Government, the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, the Provincial Court, and the Provincial Procuratorate must adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the guidelines of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Party and the General Secretary’s important speeches during his inspection tour in Jiangsu, persist in bottom-line thinking, maintain strategic determination, take the courage to act, and constantly innovate the new situation of the construction of a new Jiangsu from a new starting point, the statement said.
More efforts are needed to emancipate and unify the mind with new ideas, continuously improve political judgment, political understanding, and political execution, and always maintain a high degree of ideological and political action with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, according to the statement.
It is necessary to creatively implement the policies and decisions of the central government, deal with risks and challenges, enhance political stance, broaden the horizons, continuously improve political capabilities of grasping the new development stage, implementing new development concepts, and building a new development pattern, the statement said.
Party committees at all levels should create good conditions for the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress, the government, the CPPCC, the courts, and the procuratorate to carry out their work, and create a strong atmosphere of unity to ensure a good start of the "14th Five-Year" plan and the comprehensive construction of socialist modernization so as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC with outstanding achievements.
