On December 23, the “1st Jiangsu • Suzhou Chinese Music Concert " opened in the concert hall of Suzhou Chinese Orchestra. After the opening ceremony, under the leadership of renowned conductor Director Pang Kapang, the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra presented the first Chinese Orchestra Concert - " Symphony of Jiangnan Sizhu".
From December 23 to 26, 19 excellent art teams of Suzhou brought seven wonderful shows to the audience.
Suzhou Chinese Orchestra is a professional orchestra co-founded by Suzhou Municipal Government and Suzhou New and High-tech District. It’s a municipal non-profit art group, with Pang Kapang, renowned National 1st class conductor as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, who once conducted in Wiener Musikverein for thirteen times, Zhu Changyao, renowned Erhu soloist, composer and National 1st class performer as Artistic Instructor, and Cheng Congwu, Honorary Chairman of Suzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles and National 1st class artistic supervisor as General Manager.
The orchestra has successively held a series of large-scale concerts including “Symphony of Jiangnan Sizhu”, “Suzhou Charm in Chinese Music”, and “Symphony of Spring” etc. in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuxi.
