Province's industrial economy off to a flying start

  The latest industrial analysis from the provincial Economic and Information Commission shows that since the beginning of this year, the province’s industrial economy has got off to a flying start. From January to February, the province’s industrial added value grew by 8.3%, which was 1.1% higher than the national average.

  Recently, XCMG's 650-ton-plus oversized tonnage all-terrain cranes were once again sent overseas. As one of the few companies in the world that can produce oversized tonnage all-terrain cranes, XCMC has seen its orders for this product more than doubled since the start of this year.

  Thanks to the in-depth advancement of the Belt and Road initiative, the province’s engineering machinery sector has ushered in explosive growth this year with the growth rate of output value and export delivery value growing above 40%.

  The analysis shows that this year's key industrial sectors in the province are operating smoothly with the metallurgical, petrochemical, and building materials industries in a good state of growth. The light industry and pharmaceutical industry are relatively stable. The backbone enterprises in the pharmaceutical industry are operating at a high level and the key sectors are developing well. Some key areas and regions of strategic emerging industries and subdivided industries are witnessing faster growth.

  With the advent of 5G and the new era of the Internet of Things, the optical communication industry has ushered in a new round of development opportunities, as is evidenced by the stable growth of the optical cable industry with the output value growing by 14% year on year in the January-February period. In addition, the new generation of information technology has maintained steady growth with the production of IC increasing by 130.4%, and the output value of new energy vehicles increasing by 16.4%. In the high-end equipment manufacturing industry, the industrial robots and special operating robots saw their output value increase by 62.9% and 52% respectively.

  Statistics show that from January to February, the province’s industrial added value increased by 8.3%, and the growth rate was 1.6 percentage points higher than that of the same period of last year and 1.1 percentage points higher than the national average. Among them, the industrial added value of private enterprises above designated size increased by 8.4%. Industrial investment in the same period grew by 2.1%, which was 2.8 percentage points higher than that of the same period of last year, indicating a certain development potential.
