As the province’s only import port for finished cars, the bonded port of Zhangjiagang has registered more than 10,000 finished car imports since the start of this year.
An imported car must go through the exhaust detection, braking test, high and low beam test and horn performance test before it is allowed to enter the market.
The workers in the bonded port have been working on a busy schedule since the beginning of December.
The bonded port has registered 10,073 imported cars since the start of this year, reaching a record high for the first time and becoming one of the bonded ports for imported finished cars in the country.
In order to meet the growing market demand, the port has started the westward extension project to reserve more land for the growth momentum of the finished vehicle imports.
Construction on the second phase of the international auto mart in the bonded area has come to a close. Upon its completion at the end of this year, an imported car supermarket will come into being, complete with exhibition, sales, after-sale repair over 18,000 square meters of floor space, making it the largest parallel import car trading center in east China.
