China Automotive Technology Research Center released the evaluation results of the first batch of plug-in electric cars with 9 best-selling models involved.
The nine models are divided into micro-units and conventional units in accordance with the length of the body.
The evaluation covers five technical indicators, such as endurance, electricity consumption, safety, charging and power of electric vehicles.
Test results show that the 9 models range from one star to five stars in terms of their star ratings with varied performances, indicating that some enterprises need to further strengthen innovation and research and development and constantly upgrade their own technologies, including product qualities.
Experts say consumers tend to have misunderstandings when making car purchases as is evidenced by their excessive pursuit of endurance mileage and unnecessary fear of vehicle electromagnetic interference.
China has not only become the biggest automotive market in the world, but also the biggest electric car market in the world. In 2016 alone, the country more than doubled its fleet of electric vehicles to now over 600,000 cars – more than the US or all European countries combined.
