The 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held its 3rd plenary session Monday and Tuesday in Nanjing with a view to holding high the great banner of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, studying and carrying out the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress and the Central Economic Work Conference, implementing the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his recent inspection tour in Jiangsu and mobilizing the whole province to compose a new chapter for Jiangsu's high quality development.
The plenary session was presided over by the standing members of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a speech to the session. Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu, expounded the tasks and arrangement for next year’s economic work.
The participants at the session reached the consensus that great progress has been made across the province under the strong leadership of the CPC central committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core by implementing the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his recent inspection tour in Jiangsu, according to a statement released after the session.
The participants agreed that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent inspection tour in Jiangsu is a clear indication of the importance the CPC central committee has attached to the work in Jiangsu and the expectations laid on the high quality development in Jiangsu, the statement said.
The session urged the party and government officials in Jiangsu to study and carry out the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and follow the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his recent inspection tour in Jiangsu in a bid to make new efforts in the new era, the statement said.
Greater efforts should be made to achieve new breakthroughs by seizing the opportunities in the Belt and Road initiative, promoting the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta and the national development scheme in coastal Jiangsu, according to the statement.
It is of fundamental importance to speed up the formation of a technological innovation system with enterprises as the core and give full play to the government's overall coordinating role for the deepening of the innovation of the scientific and technological system mechanism, according to the statement.
As a developed province in the east China region, Jiangsu should take up the major responsibility for the promotion of high-quality development with a high awareness of responsibility and mission and through the combination with the implementation of the deployment and requirements set forth by the CPC central committee to strive for a forefront place in the country’s drive for high-quality development, according to the statement.
Jiangsu will take down-to-earth approaches to promote people's livelihood so that the people will live in a well-off society with easy access to more convenience, comfortableness, security, dignity, fairness and justice, said the statement.
