A man in his 70s in Xuzhou city has compiled a book on the history of the city’s culinary culture through 7 years of hard work. Wang Wenzheng, a 74-year-old native of Xuzhou, has always been interested in the local food culture since he was young. After retirement, Wang decided to write a boon on the cuisine culture of Xuzhou. To fulfill his dream, he has spent 7 years combing through ancient history books related to Xuzhou. According to Wang, the mainstream of food culture is pertaining to every place and the culinary culture of Xuzhou is based on the culture of the Chu Kingdom more than 2000 years ago. Wang has also given a brief introduction to the ancient customs of the food culture in Xuzhou.
