Savvy tourists are opting for post-holiday travel as prices on all tour routes have slumped substantially since the end of the National Day holiday, according to local travel services.
The prices of package tours to outbound and inbound tourist destinations have slumped by a large margin since the end of the National Day holiday.
Major tourist destinations include Huanggushu Fall in Guizhou province, Shangri-La in Yunnan Province and Huangshan Mountain in Anhui Province.
In addition to domestic tours, the price of outbound routes is also significantly shrinking. A trip to islands in Southeast Asian costs less than 2000 yuanwhile the cost of traveling to Japan has also fallen bynearly half.
In the meantime, major airlines are offering discounted air tickets to lure as many passengers as possible.
Insiders say Christmas season will see a big hike in the cost of traveling. It is therefore a bargain to go on sightseeing tours during this time of the yearbefore the rebound of the tourism market in the year end.
