East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development. JSBC has the story.

The last 30-meter box girder of No. 122 abutment on the left side of Taoyuan Grand Bridge was erected on Saturday, marking the connection of the bridge on the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway and pressing the "fast forward" button for the opening of the project.

The Qidu-Taoyuan section of the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway has a total length of 4.094 kilometers and requires the installation of 1124 prefabricated box girders. The construction workers overcame various difficulties to ensure that the project is completed on schedule.

“We have completed this year's annual beam erection task and will complete the bridge deck construction before the Spring Festival,” said Chen Huijing, Manager of the Suzhou-Taizhou Expressway Project Department of China Railway 20th Bureau.

Jiangsu began constructing on Wednesday the Taizhou section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu North Yangtze River high-speed railway, Nantong-Taizhou-Yangzhou Grand Bridge, and the continuous beam of the Rugao-Taixing Canal.

Three concrete trucks were continuously pumping concrete upwards. The 345.8-meter-long bridge, the largest continuous beam arch on the entire line, is expected to be completed by July next year.
