East China's Jiangsu province awarded young women scientists for the first time at a ceremony held on Wednesday in Nanjing alongside with the Report Meeting on Excellent Projects of Jiangsu Women's Science and Technology Innovation Competition. Shen Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech.
Shen Ying expressed congratulations on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee to the young female scientists who have been commended and the winners and units of the science and technology innovation competition.
She pointed out that women are an indispensable and important force in promoting technological innovation and high-quality development. She hoped that young female scientists could contribute more to the self-reliance and self-improvement of technology.
Shen Ying hoped that female entrepreneurs in science and technology innovation will take innovation as the primary driving force for enterprise development, and hold up half of the sky in promoting high-quality development. She also hoped that female college students could actively participate in innovation and entrepreneurship, and play an innovative role in promoting the new practice of the Chinese path to modernization in Jiangsu.
Five young female scientists were honored with the award after undergoing a strict selection and recommendation process by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, and the Provincial Women's Federation.
To encourage more women to promote innovation and start businesses, the Talent Office of the Provincial Party Committee and ten provincial departments jointly held the 2023 Jiangsu Women's Science and Technology Innovation Competition.
