The publications on the history of the Nanjing Massacre and the National Memorial Ceremony for Nanjing Massacre victims were released Wednesday by the Memorial Hall of the Victims of Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, one week ahead of this year's National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims.

The complete translation of the Diaries of John Rabe - Enemy Aircraft Flying to Nanjing" published by Jiangsu People's Publishing House is the latest achievement in the compilation of historical materials on the Nanjing Massacre and is so far the most comprehensive Chinese version of the Diaries of John Rabe.

The new version of the Judgment of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East is the latest achievement in the research of Tokyo Trial historical materials, which is of great significance in revealing the legal verdict of the Nanjing Massacre.

"It is a very important document from both a legal and historical perspective. The biggest feature of this version, of course, is that it is more precise. In terms of Japan's modern expansion and the atrocities that accompanied it, we firmly adhere to the unshakable conviction and verdict through a form of trial that is in line with judicial justice," Cheng Zhaoqi, Chief Expert of the War Trial and World Peace Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, said.

Four social education publications on the National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims and the history of the Nanjing Massacre were also released to strengthen patriotic education among young people.

The Time Witness includes portraits, testimonies, and photographic notes of 80 survivors of the Nanjing Massacre, taken by Su Jia, a Nanjing-based photography artist.

The youth edition of the Diaries of John Rabe is based on the 1997 version with the addition of Rabe's hand-drawn illustrations and guides, making it more suitable for teenagers to read.

"Ning Sheng Ning Sheng" is a brand-new novel by Yang Xiaoyan, an English teacher and renowned screenwriter at Changjiang Road Primary School in Nanjing. It depicts the different experiences of Ning Sheng, two namesake children of the same age, in 1937 and 2017 in a bid to tell the story of the hardships endured by children during the war.

"I want to use this story to help more children understand and remember this part of the history, so as to better cherish the present world," said Yang Xiaoyan, a well-known screenwriter and author of "Ning Sheng Ning Sheng".
