East China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to step up the construction of key water conservancy projects to ensure high-quality and timely completion of the annual targets. Let’s take a close look.
The Zhangjiahe Sluice Station, a guiding project for the Yancheng section of the Huaihe River estuary Phase II, is one of the important links in the Huaihe River estuary Phase II embankment project.
At present, the project’s underwater engineering and dam installation have been completed. On the 14.5-kilometer-long river, 23.35 million cubic meters of soil were excavated, resulting in 530 thousand square meters of precast concrete blocks protecting the river and embankment slopes.
“We are currently carrying out the construction of the auxiliary system, and the electrical equipment installation, debugging, and room decoration construction plan is scheduled for completion by the end of December,” said Yang Jun, Project Manager of Zhangjiahe Sluice Station.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has completed the investment of 7.641 billion yuan in the second phase of the Huaihe River estuary project. At the same time, the province has continued to promote the clean-up of 29 rivers totaling 377 kilometers.
The high-tech zone in Zhangjiagang has completed the construction of the Huamiao River Sluice on schedule, ensuring that the clean-up of the ShiyiWei River channel is about to be completed.
“We have improved the drainage capacity of nearly 200 cubic meters per second at the Changsha River, Taiziwei, Shiyiwei, and Zoumatang pump gate stations along the Yangtze River, providing strong water conservancy support for the economic and social development of Zhangjiagang,” said Shi Jiangfeng, Chief of Engineering Department of Yangtze River Flood Control Office, Zhangjiagang.
