East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major infrastructure projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for economic development. JSBC has the story.

The last section of the roof slab of the Wuxi section of the Zhushanhu Tunnel in the Yixing-Mashan Expressway has been poured, marking the connection of the main structure construction of the Yixing section.

Stretching from Mashan of Wuxi to Zhoutie of Yixing, the 7.81-km-long Zhushan Lake Tunnel is currently the longest mainline highway under construction in China. The builders practiced the concept of green development by adopting visual information technology to ensure construction safety and engineering quality, effectively shortened the length of the steel cofferdam through the warehouse separation flow process, and minimized the impact on the Taihu Lake area.

“We have filled the gap in the excavation and construction of super-long foundation pits for domestic water cofferdams. From the construction of the enclosure structure to the laying of the waterproof layer, and then to the self-waterproofing of the concrete, a triple waterproofing is formed to ensure that the tunnel is watertight,” said Hua Kaikai, Deputy Chief Engineer of Section 3 of Provincial Highway 341 in Yixing, China Railway 16th Bureau.

The Provincial Highway 341 project will further strengthen the rapid connection between Yixing and the urban area of Wuxi, promote the economic development and deep development of tourism resources along the line, and promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
