China's logistics activity increased in September with the overall growth momentum of the logistics industry remaining stable, according to the China Logistics Industry Prosperity Index released recently by the China Logistics and Procurement Federation.
In September, China recorded a logistics industry prosperity index of 53.5%, a 3.2 percentage point increase from the previous month. With the implementation of a series of policies, the consumption potential continues to be unleashed, stimulating an orderly rebound in logistics demand.
The demand for logistics has steadily rebounded in fields such as communication equipment, transportation equipment, electrical and mechanical equipment, automotive manufacturing and components, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The steady recovery of industrial logistics demand and rapid growth of consumer logistics have laid the foundation for the growth of logistics business volume.
“The logistics industry prosperity index showed a significant overall rebound in September, indicating that the logistics operation has ushered in a golden period of operation in September. The gradual improvement of both supply and demand in the entire market also indicates that the activity of the entire logistics is increasing,” said Liu Yuhang, Director of China Logistics Information Center.
From a regional perspective, the logistics activity in the eastern region has increased with the total business volume index in September reaching 53.8%, an increase of 2.2 percentage points from the previous month. The total business volume index in the central and western regions is lower than that of the whole country, but remains within the expansion range by posting an increase of 3.8 and 0.8 percentage points from the previous month.
