The 2023 China Changzhou Science and Technology Economic and Trade Fair opened on Sunday morning with a view to promoting cooperation in industry, technology, finance, and talent, and create an international intelligent manufacturing city that is open, empowered, and innovative.
This year's fair is a concentrated display of the achievements of Changzhou's open-oriented development. The new energy industry was thrust to the spotlight with 18 industries and scientific and technological innovation projects signed on the spot. 10 new energy industry projects were signed, with a total investment of 31 billion yuan.
With a total investment of nearly 55 billion yuan, the 18 signed projects focus on new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, new materials, new pharmaceuticals, industrial services, modern logistics, culture and tourism. Changzhou has established an investment fund with a total scale of 5 billion yuan to accelerate its development into a new energy capital.
At the opening ceremony, 12 fund projects were signed on-site to assist Changzhou's new energy vehicle industry in technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
Southeast University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center have signed strategic cooperation agreements with Changzhou to promote the settlement of more high-end talents and the transformation of more scientific research achievements.
Changzhou also awarded certificates to 10 foreign nationals who were awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Changzhou City" this year.
