A job fair was held in Nanjing on Wednesday for college graduates with disabilities under the joint organization of the Provincial Disabled Persons Employment Management Center and the Provincial College Enrollment and Employment Guidance Service Center.
The job fair set up recruitment zones for state-owned enterprises, hotel services, and private enterprises. 60 enterprises and institutions from all over the province provided 300 job vacancies for disabled college graduates, including clothing and clothing design, mechanical design and manufacturing, programmers, and Chinese style pastries.
“Our disabled college students are suitable for all positions. For those with hearing disabilities, as long as they wear an electronic cochlea, their hearing is as good as that of ordinary people. Visually disabled individuals can also achieve the effect of working without obstacles through this screen reading software and other software”, Xu Jing, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Disabled Persons' Employment Management Center, said.
“I submitted two resumes. I have a level 4 visual impairment, which has a certain impact on my life and work, but this impact can be completely overcome”, Xu Qi, an undergraduate majoring in secretarial studies at the School of Literature, Soochow University, said.
Jiangsu recorded 1118 disabled students graduating from universities this year. Disabled persons' federations across the province have organized extensive employment training and career planning guidance for disabled college graduates, as well as online and offline employment fairs for disabled graduates. As of now, 80% of fresh college graduates with disabilities have been employed.
