More than 300 enterprises showcased new technologies, processes, materials, and equipment representing the forefront of industry development at the first Jiangsu Construction Industry Innovation and Development Conference and Construction Expo that opened in Nanjing on Thursday.
The exhibition showcased smart garages that can automatically park, as well as smart construction sites that can achieve real-time monitoring and automatic dust reduction, making the changing trend of intelligent, industrialized, and green development in the construction industry omnipresent. As a major highlight of the exhibition, green and low-carbon projects have become a hot topic for many enterprises to showcase their advantages.
“We have developed modular residential buildings with negative carbon emissions, which achieve zero energy consumption and negative carbon production capacity through efficient enclosure of electromechanical smart energy and some other technical measures. Its annual production capacity is 2.5 times that of energy consumption, and the annual carbon dioxide emissions per square meter are reduced by 22.36 kilograms”, Xiao Yang, Secretary and General Manager of the Party Branch, Jiangsu Company of China Construction Science and Technology Group, said.
In recent years, prefabricated construction has been promoted and applied in the construction field, which has reduced a large number of on-site operations in traditional construction methods by simply prefabricating the components in the factory and transporting them to the construction site for assembly.
Although it is energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and has a shorter construction period, companies producing components often face the dilemma of occupying a large area and high logistics costs. A company in Wuxi has relied on digital technology to design a "three-dimensional workshop" to solve the bottleneck of industrial development.
“We have adopted a three-dimensional circulation method to lay out the production line and logistics flow line by fully utilizing space, saving 1/3 of the land area and 15% of the cost, but increasing production capacity by about 30%”, Ai Guowen, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Construction (Wuxi) Engineering Technology Development Co., Ltd., said.
Themed forums such as green buildings, building informatization and intelligence will be held during the exhibition that will last until Saturday.
The construction industry is a pillar industry, advantageous industry, and prosperous industry in Jiangsu. The total output value of the construction industry in Jiangsu has ranked first in the country for 17 consecutive years, with a total output value of 4.38 trillion yuan in 2022, accounting for 13% of the national total. The added value of the construction industry has remained the first in the country for 11 consecutive years, with an added value of 737.78 billion yuan in 2022, accounting for 6% of the province's GDP.
