East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major transport infrastructure projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development. JSBC has the story.
After nearly 18 hours of continuous construction, the construction team completed the pouring of the first bearing platform of the Chongming-Qidong Yangtze River Bridge approach bridge on the Shanghai Nanjing Hefei high-speed railway, marking the beginning of the comprehensive acceleration phase of the bridge construction.
“Starting from July 10th, we carried out steel reinforcement binding until July 22nd, and then poured 1110 cubic meters of concrete in 18 hours”, Sun Liguo, Chief Engineer, Second Division, Shanghai-Nanjing Section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway, China Railway Bridge Bureau, said.
The Chongming-Qidong Yangtze River Bridge is a key control project of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway. The approach bridge is a transitional bridge connecting the main bridge with the Chongming Grand Bridge and the Qidong Grand Bridge.
The northern connection of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge is a key expressway project under construction in Taizhou. The project starts from the Taixing East Hub of the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway and ends at the northern connection of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge. The total length of the 32-kilometer-long route is implemented in four sections. Nearly 900 workers are working hard to achieve closure in October.
“At present, all four sections are undergoing auxiliary engineering construction, and 75% of the bridge deck pavement and 66% of the guardrails have been completed. The entire northern connection project is expected to be completed by the end of the year”, Zhang Zhiling, a resident representative, Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge North Link Project Office, Taizhou Expressway Construction Headquarters, said.
This project connects the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway and Jiangyin-Yixing Expressway from north to south, which is of great significance for improving the regional expressway network, promoting the cross Yangtze River integration development of Changzhou and Taizhou, and accelerating the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
