Xin Changxing, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, met in Nanjing on Wednesday with Daniel Andrews, premier of Victoria, Australia.
On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, Xin Changxing expressed his gratitude to Andrews for his contributions to deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two regions.
He said that Victoria is the first foreign provincial region twinned with Jiangsu and the premier is an old friend of Jiangsu people and the first Australian premier to visit China since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic.
He hoped that on the basis of solid cooperation, the two sides would implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, give full play to their advantages, deepen the docking of development strategies, actively promote the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", and deepen cooperation in economy and trade, investment, culture and education, scientific and technological innovation, and green low-carbon so as to create a model of regional cooperation between China and Australia, and make greater contributions to promoting the sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia.
Andrews expressed his great pleasure at visiting Jiangsu again and seeing new changes and achievements in Jiangsu's development.
He said over the past 40 years since the establishment of friendly relations, Victoria and Jiangsu Province have continuously promoted increasingly closer exchanges and cooperation. Victoria highly values the friendship and cooperative relationship between the two sides, and is willing to look forward to the future and work together with Jiangsu to create more mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation results, better benefit the people of both regions, and make new contributions to the development of Australia-China relations.
